 | Mt. Erebus, the southernmost active volcano in the world, has been active since 1972. Bitterly cold temperatures, which can drop to as low as -60°C (-76°F), are routinely accompanied by high wind velocities and frequent blizzards. Additionally, volcanic activity below the surface releases acidic gases and volcanic lava bombs. Volcanic explosions can propel lava bombs as large as 3m (~10ft) as far as 300m (1,000ft) beyond the crater rim. These conditions make Mt. Erebus the most extreme environment on Earth in many respects. | | In addition to supplying extreme surveillance equipment, Extreme CCTV engineers are providing ongoing technical support to the volcanologists of New Mexico Geochronology Research Laboratory. The EX14 and MX4 are the latest additions to Mt. Erebus, where Extreme’s EX50 and EX10 cameras are also in use. The resulting scientific data from Mt. Erebus are considered extremely valuable to researchers, who use the informtion to help predict eruptions elsewhere in the world. | Illuminators & Fixed Camera Performance Benefits - IP Infrared Imaging (i3) harnesses the power of infrared illumination to deliver out standing images day or night, integrating seamlessly with existing IP network infra structure

| | Black Diamond™ optimizes the function of integrated digital security systems – particularly in low light and zero light conditions. Surpassing the capabilities of conventional infrared illuminators, Black Diamond™ Even Illumination lights the foreground and background of an entire scene, eliminating hot spots and underexposure for an outstanding night-time image. | Moondance® Featuring an innovative metal powerdome design, Moondance® is a ruggedized PTZ camera engineered for security applications that demand the very best performance. The Moondance® machined metal ballhead allows the most versatile pan-tilt operation of any speed dome, capturing images from both above and below the camera. Constructed of CNC-milled 6mm thick aluminum or vandal resistant grade 316 stainless steel, Moondance® is certified to IP68 / NEMA 4X for performance in extreme weather environments. Three-year product warranty. Patents held and international patents pending. | Rated to an industry leading IP68 (illuminators rated to IP66) the vandal resistant 6 mm thick aluminum camera housing is suitable for installation in the harshest of environments, while the optically perfect flat viewing window and integrated wiper option ensure razor sharp images are captured in even the most demanding conditions.IR illumination is provided by two 880 nm IR units built-in to the camera head. This ensures that an even beam of IR light is provided in the exact direction the camera is facing to give the best possible night-time picture quality up to a distance of 30 m (98 ft). | REG® REG for Effective License Plate Capture - REG cameras consistently and reliably capture license plates
- Property managers know which vehicles are coming and going
- REG works under all lighting conditions from noon sun to total darkness, headlight on or off
- REG gets the plate from up to 100ft away and so can be installed away from vandal and tamper-prone areas
- REG integrates with industry-standard DVRs
- Video evidence may be obtained and used as court evidence
| Thermal Imaging DVS1000 The Global View Station 1000 (GVS1000) delivers long range day/night pan-tilt-zoom surveillance. Delivering 1km of Recognition level surveillance and 500m of Identification level surveillance in total darkness, the GVS1000 provides unmatched situation awareness capabilities for critical applications including Homeland Security, force protection and critical infrastructure. Combining award-winning active-infrared illumination and a 60x IRcorrected zoom lens, the GVS1000 delivers absolute performance to resolve alphanumeric lettering in total darkness. The GVS1000 features uncompromised Pan-Tilt-Zoom capability including 32 high-accuracy presets, three programmable tours and a host of other PTZ functions. Variable, highly-precise speed control down to 0.1º tilt ensures that operators can accurately follow targets at long range, even in the pitch black of night. For maximum simplicity and versatility, a single joystick keyboard controller supporting Pelco P protocol commands the entire system. | |
